Formerly in the McCormick & Schmick's space at 41 E Chestnut St., is new place to devour seafood thanks to the Truluck's group. The Texas chain that specializes in fresh Florida stone crab is ready to fill stomachs in the Gold Coast this season.

Be warned, upon entering there is a dress code and business casual is epxected. Truluck's Seafood Steak & Crab House has spared no expense in improving the restaurant and It has paid off with upscale decor including breathtaking chandeliers.

Pair the entertainment with appetizers such as the crab claws or crab cakes. Then head into the combination platters that adds shrimp, oysters and lobsters into the mix.

Another restaurant that is rich in history is the Union League Club of Chicago at 65 Jackson Blvd. A hosted dinner gave some early diners a chance to sample some food recently and it definitley did not disappoint.

Chef Doug D'Avico taught a cooking demonstration on how to properly cook calamari. He was very helpful with questions then moved the group into a private room available for parties, where we tried various courses paired with wine.
