More than 1,000 guests, including Governor Pat Quinn, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and a number of other political and community leaders, attended the annual gala at the Hilton Chicago. The music of DJ/Percussionist Drumspyder and club were designed by Balloons A Go-Go with delectable hors d’oeuvres by Macadamia Events & Catering and Lime. Raffle Packages were offered to benefit The Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation. DJ Mark Andrus took over the decks and huge video screens to bump up the T-Dance.

Over 50 participants braved the freezing temperatures and shed their running clothes in favor of red Speedos to run one mile through Andersonville in the first annual Santa Speedo Run. The event organized by Karl Sponholtz and his partner Jeff Colgan was a benefit for Vital Bridges.

Halloween Costume Carnaval in West Hollywood

The largest Halloween street party in the world happens in West Hollywood, located in the Los Angeles County Region. Each year, more than 500,000 people take to the streets of Santa Monica Boulevard to enjoy the craziest, most eccentric costume creations ever. The big draws of the evening are the Halloween Costume Contest and crowning of an Honorary "Queen of the Carnaval." Visitors can also expect fantastic live entertainment, food vendors, pumpkin-carving contests and children’s activities throughout the week previous. Admission is free and the event starts at 6 PM and runs until 11 PM.
